Is Taurean Prince out of 2025-26 season? Milwaukee Bucks forward sidelined indefinitely as team awaits new plan

Send Push
Milwaukee Bucks forward Taurean Prince will miss a lot of time with a herniated disc in his neck, ESPN reported on Monday. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Prince is expected to miss a "significant period of time" after he received a diagnosis on Monday of a herniated disc in his neck.

Due to what the team termed a neck issue, Prince, 31, missed Milwaukee's last two games and will not play Monday at Dallas. In a team that already leans small on the perimeter, Prince's absence leaves Rivers without a big wing. Amir Coffey has taken over in the last two games, but Milwaukee now is without two of the top eight players from the opening-night lineup.

Milwaukee Bucks suffer setback as Taurean Prince ruled out indefinitely with herniated neck disc
On the 10th of November, Milwaukee Bucks forward Taurean Prince was reported to be out indefinitely while the medical team would determine the best way to treat the injury and also when to bring back the player. This happened as a result of the herniated disc in his neck. He participated in the first eight games but missed the next two ones because the team first said it was a neck problem.

“Medical Update: Taurean Prince underwent an MRI last week that revealed a herniated disk in his neck. Prince will be sidelined indefinitely as the team’s medical staff and external specialists determine the best treatment plan. Further updates will be provided as appropriate…”

Prince, who averaged 6.1 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.5 three-pointers, and 1.0 assists in 21.0 minutes during his first eight games of the season, was a vital bench player for the Bucks prior to missing Milwaukee's last two games due to the injury.

Prince's situation will be examined on a week-to-week basis, with a more definite schedule to be refined once he is given a go-ahead to resume on-court activities. Although it might provide reserves like Kyle Kuzma, Bobby Portis, Amir Coffey, and Cole Anthony a few more minutes, his absence probably won't have much of an impact on fantasy teams.

In the first eight games this season, Prince averaged 6.1 points and 21.1 minutes per game off the bench, shooting 42.9% from three-point range.

A ten-year veteran, Adams has averaged 9.8 points and 3.6 rebounds, along with 1.7 assists in 590 games (344 starts) for six different teams since being selected 12th overall by the Utah Jazz in 2016.

After starting 73 games the previous season and beginning 2025–2026 in a crucial bench position under head coach Doc Rivers, Prince, 31, re-signed with Milwaukee this summer. He averaged 6.1 points and 1.6 rebounds in 21.1 minutes during the first eight games, shooting 42.9% from three-point range. "Indefinitely" is the operative term for the time being because the Bucks did not specify a timeline and players with neck problems frequently approach gradually.
