The end of an era in professional wrestling is set to take place on December 13, 2025, when John Cena steps into the ring for the last time at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C. But while fans are already emotional about the farewell, there’s now a major twist as former WWE star Tyrus believes that none other than U.S. President Donald Trump will be in attendance for the grand occasion, and possibly even play a role in the outcome of the match.

Tyrus’ bold claim comes as speculation intensifies around who might appear during Cena’s final bout. Given Trump’s long-standing relationship with WWE and his close ties to the McMahon family, his appearance wouldn’t be out of character. Still, Tyrus’ remarks have sent shockwaves through both the wrestling and political communities.

Donald Trump is “1000%” attending John Cena’s final WWE match, says Tyrus

Speaking to TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Tyrus makes his bold claim when asked whether Donald Trump would show up. “Oh, the President? 1000%. If he says he’s going, he’s going. It’s in D.C. And that’s not by no mistake. He might even be in the finish,” he said, suggesting Trump’s involvement might extend beyond simply watching from ringside.

Tyrus, now a Fox News commentator and former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, defended Trump’s potential attendance as something to be celebrated, not criticized.

“He might hit a binding resolution in the middle of that match,” Tyrus joked, “but I definitely think that if the President says he’s going to be there, he’s going to be there because he’s a fan. He loves it.”

When asked whether Trump’s appearance could stir controversy, Tyrus brushed off the idea. “Bad look for who?” he shot back. “You take all the whiny baby, ‘I hate the President’—all that crap. Many years from now, when we’re all old and gray and all this media bullshit is over, there’s going to be a grandchild who’ll be like, ‘Daddy, did you talk with the President?’ I said, ‘I didn’t talk with him, I broke bread with him.’”

He added, “And there’s going to be someone who says, ‘I remember where I was when John Cena and the President of the United States were there.’”

John Cena’s farewell match marks a monumental WWE moment

Cena’s final match will headline Saturday Night’s Main Event live from the Capital One Arena and will stream on Peacock in the U.S. and Netflix internationally. The 17-time World Champion has spent the past year on his farewell tour, with emotional stops at WrestleMania 41, SummerSlam, and his final Raw appearance at Madison Square Garden in November.

While WWE has yet to confirm Cena’s final opponent, reports suggest that former World Heavyweight Champion Gunther could be his last rival. Regardless, the one last time is here, and Cena will hang up his wrestling boots, ending his legacy-enriched WWE tenure. It will certainly be monumental for the company as the WWE legend has been a huge contributor to the global success of the wrestling promotion.
