Jammu and Kashmir created history by defeating Delhi by seven wickets in the Ranji Trophy, marking their first-ever win against Delhi in the tournament's 96-year history since 1934. Aqib Nabi was named Player of the Match for his key bowling performance. Captain Paras Dogra, Kamran Iqbal, and Vanshraj Sharma, son of cricketer Sharma, also made significant contributions.
Playing at home, Delhi set a target of 179 runs. Jammu and Kashmir chased it successfully for the loss of only three wickets, thanks largely to Kamran Iqbal's impressive 133 runs out of the total 179. Aqib Nabi took five wickets for 35 runs in Delhi’s first innings, restricting their total to 211 runs.
In Jammu and Kashmir’s first innings reply, they scored 310 runs with captain Paras Dogra contributing a century (106 runs). Delhi improved slightly in their second innings but managed only 277 runs.
Vanshraj Sharma excelled with the ball in the second innings, taking six wickets, adding to the two wickets he claimed earlier, finishing with eight wickets in the match.
